The annual Sunnyslope 5K Scamper returns on March 7, 2026! Join students, families, alumni, and neighbors for a fun and friendly 5K run/jog/walk along the canal. All ages and fitness levels are welcome.

Registration

Online registration is open! Click here to register for the race. Registration fees are as follows:

19 years old and up: $35.00
18 years old and younger: $10.00
Sunnyslope students: Free

What to Expect

Race begins at 9am; registration opens at 8:30am
A scenic 5 kilometer out and back route along the canal. Route will be marked and volunteers will be along the route, guiding and cheering on participants. You can view the route map here.
All race participants will receive a race t-shirt with the custom Scamper logo designed by Sunnyslope 9th grader Sophia Phillips and a Scamper race sticker
Top finishers will receive Berry Berry Best Acai and The Simple Chefs gift cards
Timed and untimed participant options
Categories for both male and female participants:
- 18 years old and younger
- 19-39 years old
- 40-55 years old
- Over 55 years old
Water stations from Chill Water and Ice will be at the start / finish points and the turn around point on the canal
Family-friendly atmosphere with the Slope cheer and pom teams, the Slope band, Slope photographers, and a race emcee
Post-race gathering with coffee from Cultivate and breakfast burritos from The Simple Chefs

race day logistics

Parking: The main parking area is south of the pool parking lot, past the big iron gates. Enter from Dunlap Avenue.
Restrooms: Restrooms will be open on school campus in the J-building breezeway, just a short walk from the pool parking lot
